EDUCATION: Wayne obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Regina. The work for his Master of Education was done through the University of Southern Queensland. Postgraduate training in marriage and family therapy was done through courses offered by the Family Therapy Training Program; the Colorado School for Family Therapy; and the Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center. His certificate in addiction studies was earned through Mount Royal College.
EMPLOYMENT: For fifteen years, Wayne has been a successful classroom teacher (grades 7 to 12) and guidance counsellor (kindergarten to grade 9). He also worked with a private agency as a small group counsellor with children exposed to domestic violence and as a facilitator for parenting courses.
MEMBERSHIPS: His professional memberships include the Society of Catholic Social Scientists; the Society for Christian Psychology; the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars; and the International Positive Psychology Association.
PHILOSOPHY: In his professional practice, Wayne uses an eclectic approach - choosing what he believes will be of best benefit to his clients. The main influences come from positive psychology, strengths-based and solution-focussed therapy, expressive therapies, logotherapy, temperaments theory, and Christian humanism. FAMILY: Wayne and his wife started their own marriage journey together in 1993, and they continue to work at doing their best in the challenges of parenting. Being committed members of their local parish is important to them.
